What is Supplemental Insurance, and Why Would I Want It?
Supplemental Insurance is an add-on feature that enhances your base insurance plan. The plan offered to State of Wisconsin Employees through The EPIC Life Insurance Company provides you with Dental, Excess Medical, and Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage.
Plain and simple, carrying Supplemental Insurance can save you money by providing benefits for costs you'd otherwise be responsible for. You'll find detailed information for each coverage line in the attached benefit grids.
If you enroll now and continue your coverage through at least 20 years of employment, you can take the supplemental benefits with you when you retire -- and continue to pay low group rates. If you're employed for less than 20 years, you may continue the coverage under the laws and requirements of COBRA.
